Issay Sesay returned to the witness box on Monday 26 July 2010 and told the Special Court for Sierra Leone that he was not appointed head of the RUF by Mr. Taylor alone but instead he was appointed after a series of discussions held by West African Leaders that merely included Mr. Taylor.

Introduction

On 30 November 2009 Trial Chamber II handed down a decision on the Prosecution motion regarding the use and admission of new documents by the Prosecution during cross-examination. The Trial Chamber decided that the Prosecution is not required to disclose documents introduced for the purpose of impeaching the credibility of the Accused, but is required to disclose any documents that are probative of the guilt of the Accused.

Introduction

On 5th December, 2009, the Victims’ Trust Fund will be launched by President Ernest Koroma in Freetown. The Fund was first provided for in XXIX of the Lome Peace Agreement of 1991 and later Art. 7(6) of the TRC Act 2000 and was also recommended in the TRC Report 2004. According to the TRC Report, the Fund was supposed to have been created three months after the report was submitted to the Government. Read more...
